GEOGRAPHICAL CENTRE OF EUROPE

In 1989 the National Institute of Geography of France, which defined clear borders for Europe and conducted complex calculations, determined that the very centre of Europe is located at 54°54'N 25°19'E in Lithuania, specifically 26 kilometres (16 miles) north of its capital city, Vilnius, near the village of Purnuškės.
